Global PTO Fundraising

GLOBAL HIGH PTO MEETING MINUTES – 2013 – NOVEMBER 5

Meeting was called to order at 7:12pm

Old business

  • October minutes were reviewed.  Motion to accept minutes for both meetings was made, seconded and approved.

  • Financial report was reviewed.  Motion was then made to approve the financial report, seconded and approved.

Mr. Snook

  • Texas A&M and Texas Tech have both come to speak to juniors and seniors.  Friday, 11/8, UT Tyler will come to speak to those classes.

  • The Government classes went to the Bush Library and it was a great trip.

  • Senior cap and gown orders have been made. Any new orders will need to be made at www.jostens.com.

  • Senior pictures for the yearbook will be taken soon.

  • Went over upcoming events calendar

    • 12/13 Blood drive 9a to 3p at WGH.  17-18 year olds are allowed to donate and sign for themselves.  Under 17 may donate with parent signature.  Parents may also sign up for a time to donate if they would like. Seniors who donate twice during their senior year will get a recognition cord for graduation.

    • 12/14 Winter formal.  This is a formal dance for all grades to be held in the WGH gym.

    • 12/19 & 20 will be ½ days due to semester finals.

    • Return to school on January 8.

New Business

Terra Irving spoke about Tinsel and Treats.  The event is set for December 7 from 3p to 8p.  The events are broken down by classes. 

-Freshman – Baked goods, asking for these to be homemade and please share major ingredients to avoid allergic reactions

-Sophomore – Elf Camp ages 3-12, $10 fee

-Junior – Trees and wreaths

-Senior – Pictures with Santa and beverages

 

Sunday, 11/10 at Carinos in Waxahachie from open to close will be a fundraising day for WGH.  15% of your purchase will be donated to WGH.  You must present the flier to receive the donation.  This flier is on www.globalpto.org, please share with your family and friends. 

Spirit store will be open every Friday 11:30 to 1:30 during lunches.

Costco rep, Art Villareal, spoke about Costco and a great deal on memberships that will equal funds donated to the PTO. 

Executive membership: $110

  • 14 months of membership instead of 12

  • $30 worth of coupons for free stuff like meat, pizza, water, etc…

  • $20 gift card donated to Global PTO for use on future events

  • 2% return on purchases made through the year.  Most of the time it’s enough to pay for the next year’s membership

 

Gold Star membership: $55

  • 14 months of membership instead of 12

  • $30 worth of coupons for free stuff like meat, pizza, water, etc…

  • $10 give card donated to Global PTO for use on future events

 

These deals are good for friends and family who wish to get a membership, upgrade a membership or even renew current memberships.  This deal is only good until 12/24.  Tell your friends and family about it.  If they choose to take the deal they will need to go to the Costco in Duncanville and speak to customer service and tell them that they would like the deal that Art Villareal has for Global High.

No other new business was mentioned.

Motion was made to close the meeting.  Motion was seconded and carried and meeting was closed at 8:26p.
