GLOBAL HIGH PTO MEETING MINUTES – 2014 –August 5
Meeting was called to order at 7:00pm
PTO Executive Board Members present: Brett Lewis, Stacey Martin, Shelina Costlow, Anne Dalquest. A Quorum is declared.
Minutes from the June meeting were reviewed. Motion to accept minutes was made, seconded and approved.
Anne went over financial report. There was $94.68 left in the senior activities fund from the 2014 class that will be carried forward to the Class of 2015 senior activities fund. Motion to approve financial report was made, seconded and approved.
Thanked everyone for attending and getting ready to start the new year.
Senior photos will be taken the second week of school and there will be a $5 sitting fee. These photos are for the year book. If seniors want other senior portraits taken, that is up to each family to do.
Jostens will be here in September to visit with juniors and seniors to discuss senior rings and graduation announcements.
Teachers who are no longer at Global – Adams, Mrs. Warren, Hansard, Schneider and Ledbetter.
Mr. Lynch has been reassigned to Clift Elementary. We wish him the best of luck. He is not being replaced here at Global.
Quest Fest is August 22. 1 to 5pm will be orientation and 5pm starts hot dog dinner and club visits in the gym. Upperclassmen should have schedules on Skyward on that day.
Remind 101 lists are being cleared and reset. If you wish to be on a teacher’s or a class list you will need to subscribe to those lists.
This year we are offering AP World Geography and AP World History.
The Bush Institute has contacted Mr. Snook and will do a series of follow-up articles on WGH.
Brett went over the new PTO Bylaws. These have been approved by the executive board and will be on the globalpto.org website in the next few days.
PIE forms are available now. A new form must be filled out each year.
Senior parent group is in charge of baccalaureate, senior banquet, project graduation and any fundraising needed to make these events happen. If interested in helping with the senior parent group please contact Stacy by her email,
The major PTO fundraisers are the golf tournament, Tinsel and Treats, and Dessert Night.
Brett gave a brief update on the Golf Tournament – Former sponsors and players have been contacted about participating in this year’s tournament. We need help soliciting players and sponsors.
Brett met with our new rep from Costco. They will donate a whole pallet of water for Quest Fest that should last through many of our events this year. They also wish to continue to offer the fundraising deal similar to last year. The $110 membership gets you 14 months of membership, $30 in coupons and the PTO gets a gift card.
No other new business was mentioned.
Motion was made to close the meeting. Motion was seconded and carried and meeting was closed at 7:50pm.
