                                                                        GLOBAL HIGH PTO MEETING MINUTES – 2014 –May 6


Meeting was called to order at 7:02pm

Old business

  • Motion was made to accept April meeting minutes with a change of heading and a time for Navarro graduation. Motion was seconded and approved.

  • Went over financial report.  Motion to approve was made, seconded and approved.

  • The board accepted Melanie Moore’s resignation from her role as PTO Treasurer.  Anne Dalquest has received the votes from the executive board to replace Melanie for the remainder of her term ending June 2015.

  • Brett thanked Melanie on behalf of the PTO for all of her hard work as treasurer.

  • Thanked the senior parents for all of the their involvement and dedication over the past 4 years.

  • Announced that Rotary recognized Jane Cloud as Global High Student of the Month

  • 3 interact students spent their spring break in Nicaraugua on a mission trip.

  • Upcoming events calendar

    • 5/7 Partners in Education luncheon.  Recognizing UT Tyler as the business of the year.

    • 5/10 Navarro Graduation 1pm

    • 5/15 Cap and gown pickup

    • 5/17 Robotics club donating a robot to the Waxahachie Police Dept.  The PD will be doing a demo of the robot.

    • Andrea Kline will be recognized as WGH teacher of the year.  She is also 1 of 3 finalist for District Teacher of the Year.

    • The  week of May 27, TSI will be offered after school for any student who has not yet passed it.

    • Geometry is being offered during the summer for any freshman who wish to take it so that they do not have to double up on math classes their sophomore year.

New Business

If any family dinner night details become final before the end of school, those details will be passed along as quickly as possible.

Lisa Hoops went over the recent senior fundraising event and graduation activities.  The garage sale earned the seniors $1510.  Soul’s Harbour took the remainder of garage sale items as a donation.                                                               

No other new business was mentioned.

Motion was made to close the meeting.  Motion was seconded and carried and meeting was closed at 7:50pm.

Next meeting 6/3/2014.
